It’s been a while since I posted anything to the site as I was on a long and awesome holiday. I’m well rested and happy to report that Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem now runs great on Linux.
Shortly after release the game launched and ran in Linux, bar the launch issues with Multi Player, but the player’s character had a large orb covering its upper body which was quite distracting. Frame rates were also on the low side even with all the quality settings set to low.
Things improved dramatically after the last Wolcen patch. Playing Wolcen now, using Proton 5.0-5, performance wise is quite close to Windows 10’s performance on my PC. The large orb is now gone, the game runs at the same FPS and performs very much the same compared to my Windows installation.
The team from Wolcen Studio made a lot of progress and resolved a lot of fixes in the game in general. If you haven’t checked it out as yet, why not try now?
You can get Wolcen from steam here.
